Interview with Microsoft OSS Labs people (Team Leader) is really appreciative. He explained many things in a transparent manner. Like how the other Microsoft team people supporting for their opensource goal, and talk about php developer guide, then most extreme explanation on Microsoft upcoming contribution for Opensource especially on PHP.

If he explained little bit detailed on key difference between microsoft other product solution with opensource(PHP), then it would be fine.

I am not sure what you mean by your last sentence.

Do you mean you want them to explain the differences between running PHP on Windows and other platforms?

Not exactly, i mean , the 'PC' asked one question like will it(opensource development initiative at MS lab) affect the other microsoft product solution(.NET etc). But the 'TH' didnt answer for it.

So, i need more exposure on PHP, how the PHP will be in the upcoming days, will it beat the other technology like(.NET etc). Thats all!

Of course Microsoft is not interested in favoring PHP against ASP.NET . What Tom Hanrahan explained is that MOSTC (Microsoft Open Source Technology Center) does is to find opportunities in the Open Source world that other Microsoft divisions can benefit.

For instance, the IIS division can make PHP work better on Windows, so Microsoft customers that really want to use PHP no matter what are not tempted to switch to Linux. And that happens a lot.

This does not mean that IIS division will favor PHP in detriment of .NET based solutions, on the contrary.

It also matters if clients really know what's good for their bussiness. As they want to hire a php programmer to do their job the programmer can just present his client options he has for hosting/platform on which resulting product will run best as it is in both favor to have best solution.

I think PHP developer is not a simple robot to do whatever client needs, but he also can consult the client and show him (lets say) "right way" to have it done concerning functionality/performance of resulting product.
