About three years ago I wrote a review about the book PHP 5 CMS Framework Development.

http://www.phpclasses.org/reviews/id/1847193579.html

The time has passed and last year (2010), Packt has released the second edition of the book.

In this review I focus on the changes between the editions of the book, which are brief and objective, since the core of the work remains the same and with the same quality.

The first change I noticed is the addition of a chapter and change in the sequence of the final chapters.

Well since now the chapter 13 deals with the REST services and SEF, is an interesting chapter because it helps to understand these development approaches and how to apply them in a framework.

Chapter 14 in the first edition was the chapter 13. It addresses the topic of the application errors and how to treat them.

The biggest innovation is in Chapter 15. One thing I missed in the first edition was to build a simple application to put in practice what was learned when we read the book. The author has done it in this second edition. So with the example of a blog, you can put into practice the knowledge we acquired.

{buttons}In sum, I recommend reading this book to those looking forward to improve their skills in PHP, or intend to create new frameworks.

To put it simply, a good book to read, and with new tricks to learn.
